Kind of… the fenders are made from hemp, the plant that doesn’t get you high and that can be turned into a durable material, used for many things.

The innovative German sports car company, Porsche has created a GREEN version of their last generation of the Cayman GT4 race car.

Normally, the Cayman’s fenders would be made with carbon fiber, but Porsche decided to use hemp instead.

This shows that hemp is just as light as carbon fiber, a material used on many sports cars to lighten the weight.

Unfortunately, the downside to hemp is that it can absorb water and swell up. Although if painted, water shouldn't be an issue.

Hemp is also a more eco-friendly option compared to carbon fiber.
