“Oregon's Secretary of State approved language for a potential ballot that would legalize psychedelic mushrooms for medical use”

In the United States, possession of magic mushrooms is a felony due to the fact that they are classified as a Schedule I substance. However, some studies have shown that mushrooms can have positive effects on people suffering from cancer treatments and depression.

Organizers who want magic mushrooms to be on the ballot need to get 117,578 signatures. If the requisite number of signatures are obtained, citizens could vote on the decriminalization of magic mushrooms in the 2020 general election. Not only would it decriminalize magic mushrooms but allow for manufacturing and administration of the substances.

Creators of the potential ballot, Tom and Sheri Eckert said, "The intent of the 2020 Psilocybin Service Initiative of Oregon is to advance a breakthrough therapeutic model currently being perfected in research settings at top universities around the world."

First cannabis, next magic mushrooms. What a time to be alive!
